Amd Announces 7-nanometer Process Chips: Intel And Invida

According to Reuters, AMD released a new generation of CPUs and GPUs Wednesday in the United States, which are smaller and more efficient, targeting rivals Intel and Invidia.

AMD Chief Executive Su Zifeng released the third generation of the Ruilong CPU on CES, designed specifically for desktop computers, which is expected to go on sale in mid-year. Then, AMD will launch a GPU named Radeon VII on February 7, which will rival Yingweida's. In addition, the company also expects to sell the next generation of EPYC server chips by mid-year.

All three chips are manufactured using AMD's latest 7-nanometer process technology, which can accommodate more transistors on the chip and improve performance. Both EPYC Server Chip and Ruilong CPU use Zen 2 architecture, which is absolutely the same level even if not better than Intel's chip. In the CES speech, Su Zifeng showed that the third generation of Ruilong CPU consumed 30% less power than Intel's Core i9 CPU.

Intel is still struggling with the production of 10-nanometer process chips, and analysts believe AMD may take this opportunity to divide up some market share. Intel hopes to launch 10-nanometer PC chips by the end of this year and 10-nanometer server chips by the beginning of next year.

Intel, the world's largest data center and computer chip manufacturer, has always been a leader in the market. Until recently, due to the delay in the production of 10-nanometer process chips, there has been a rumor of being taken away by TSMC.

In her speech, Su also said that Alphabet, the parent company of Google, will work with AMD to use the RADEON graphics chip of AMD in the recently released project Stream, a streaming Game service.

Last year, AMD said it would not develop new technologies in the future, but would outsource them to other manufacturers, such as TSMC.
